Good morning! This post I bring to you TWO soaps that I have finally gotten pictures of and are listed on the curing rack. The soap to the left there is VENUS for the new planetary line. She is more photogenic than her brother Mercury right now, so up on the page she goes! I'm still waiting for Mercury to brown out. Seems as though he's wanting to do this in "spots" Still smells heavenly though!
Anyway, to the right here, you'll see the newest addition to the gemstone line, PEARL. I had a little trouble with this one, as some of you may be aware, I had to remake it because the first trial did NOT turn out like I had intended. But, all is well now, and previous pearl is chillin on the curing rack rebatched for me and the hubs while new pearl is already selling out :) and I don't mean like a celebrity.
I have developed a new formula through Venus that I think I really like. From now on (as long as it stays vegan), I am going to be incorporating silk and clay in every bar of soap. I may also include coconut milk in every batch as well. It only costs me pennies, but it brings great benefit to the finished bar. With that being said, RUBY is next on the list. I'm not sure what the fragrance will be yet. I'd like it to be something hot and spicy, but I also need the fragrance to behave while I'm making it (i.e. will not ruin my batch and/or discolor to brown). I'm also going to try to get on a schedule with soapmaking. I've been kind of doing it whenever I feel like it (which is nice!), but I'd like to have a specific DAY that I do it. That way, I have plenty of time to plan and I will not have any other mishaps. Or fewer mishaps anyway. It might be a little hard with my day job schedule, but I will make it work :)
I'm also planning on doing a craft show this year. I'm going to try to get in touch with the folks over in Kimmswick (Missouri) and try to get enrolled in their November craft fair. I know, it's a long way away, but this will be my first fair, and I want to be really ready for it. I'm going to make a whole slew of soaps, separate from the ones I currently have, just to sell at the fair. If any of you find yourself there this year, please find me! (that is, if they accept me into the fair LOL).
Well, that's that and I better stop this wall of text. Later all!
